Conference Funding
The Student Conference Travel Fund supports undergraduate students from all academic disciplines who are actively participating in professional conferences. This includes giving an oral or poster presentation, performing, or exhibiting original work. Students who are merely attending a conference without presenting are not eligible for funding.
Typical awards range from $100 to $1,000, depending on the location and duration of the conference. Funds may be used to offset costs associated with registration, travel, lodging, and meals. To be eligible, students must be accepted to present and submit their application at least three weeks prior to the start of the conference. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and are typically processed within ten business days.
Students who receive funding are required to share their work with the St. Edward’s community after returning from their conference. This can be fulfilled by presenting at the Symposium on Undergraduate Research and Creative Expression (SOURCE) or by submitting their work to a campus journal, such as Arete or The Sorin Oak Review.
Additionally, students are asked to submit a brief written reflection and proof of participation in an on-campus presentation opportunity. After returning from the conference, please contact the Office of Fellowships by emailing Dina Guidubaldi (dguiduba@stedwards.edu) to explore further fellowship opportunities and receive continued guidance.
For questions about the fund or application process, please email Dr. Andrea Holgado at aholgado@stedwards.edu.
