Baylor Scott & White Health Services Through Aug. 1, 2021

Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), provides St. Edward's University students with comprehensive medical services. These services are offered via telemedicine options, as well as priority scheduling at the Baylor Scott & White downtown clinic, located 3 miles from campus.

Getting connected to BSWH is simple and is offered in a variety of ways to fit student needs and preferences.

Check out our FAQs for more information about the services provided by Baylor Scott & White Health.

Students will continue to be referred with BSWH for health services until Aug. 1, 2021.

Telemedicine Appointments

For health concerns, we encourage students to first get started with a telemedicine appointment. While telemedicine appointments are available, options vary based on your health insurance provider.

Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)

Students under the university health insurance plan have access to telemedicine at no charge as part of their United Healthcare medical plan. Visit your UHCSR account for more information.

Non-SHIP (i.e., covered by other insurance providers)

Students with their own private insurance may either access the BSWH clinic for telemedicine services and pay their insurance's copay, or use UHCSR’s telemedicine service and pay a $40 copay — it’s your choice which option you select.

Students who have their own private insurance are also encouraged to consider using telemedicine options that their insurance company may provide.

In-person Clinic Appointments

Both SHIP and Non-SHIP students that require an in-person medical appointment (e.g. physicals, sexually transmitted disease services, immunizations, etc.) will be referred to the BSWH downtown clinic or their nearest BSWH clinic. SHIP students will be charged the reduced $15 copay at any of the BSWH locations. Non-SHIP students will be responsible for paying their private insurance's copay.

If you have a medical emergency, please call 9-1-1.

Travel Health

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we strongly recommend students keep up to date with the CDC’s Travelers’ Health information for the latest recommendations regarding travel.
