Dr. Camelia Rotaru is a Professor of Finance at St. Edward's University, where she teaches corporate finance, financial markets and institutions, and international finance. Her courses combine rigorous financial theory with hands-on, market-driven learning designed to prepare students for careers in investment management, banking, consulting, fintech, and corporate finance.
Dr. Rotaru emphasizes experiential learning and applied analytics, mentoring students through opportunities such as the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) and the Bloomberg Trading Challenge. Students in her classes work with real financial data, explore market trends and emerging technologies, and develop the critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills needed to succeed in today’s global economy.
She is also actively engaged with the finance profession through her service on the board of the Austin Chapter of Financial Executives International, helping strengthen connections between industry leaders and the broader business community.
