About Our Institutional Boards and Offices
These boards and offices oversee participant protection, biosafety and grant processes, helping researchers uphold integrity. OSP also fosters and supports faculty and staff research and creative work.
The IRB reviews and approves research involving human subjects to ensure ethical conduct, safeguarding participants' rights and welfare throughout the study.
The IACUC at St. Edward’s University oversees the care and well-being of vertebrate animals used in research and teaching. It is dedicated to helping investigators develop ethical policies for animal research while ensuring compliance with national standards.
The IBC at St. Edward’s University oversees research involving recombinant or synthetic nucleic acids, cells, organisms, or viruses and helps investigators develop research protocols that comply with national biosafety standards.
The goal of the OSP is to assist faculty and staff in their efforts to secure and ensure proper stewardship of external funding while protecting the university’s interests and remaining compliant with relevant federal regulations, sponsor guidelines and individual award terms and conditions.
