Welcome to St. Edward’s! Now that you’ve submitted your enrollment deposit, you’ll soon be receiving messages on your new SEU email about Orientation events that will help you get ready for life on the hilltop. (We explain more about your email below.)

During your Orientation, you’ll meet a team of Hilltoppers who are excited to get you energized for the fall semester and ready for a rewarding St. Edward’s experience. Here are 6 important things to know — and that you’ll hear about — prior to Orientation.

1. Confirmation Email

Within a few days of making your enrollment deposit, you’ll receive an email (to your personal email account) from the Office of Admission that confirms your new SEU email address and provides instructions on how you can access it. This message will also remind you to check your SEU email in a few days for an invite to Hillstart.

2. Hillstart

Hillstart is the first phase of Orientation. In this process, you’ll take care of a number of important items such as campus housing selection, your advising questionnaire, Orientation registration, and more. You’ll also upload your insurance information and meningitis vaccine paperwork. You can access Hillstart through myHilltop.

3. Your Success Coach

Your personal success coach is a mentor and guide to you throughout your time at St. Edward’s. They’ll get to know you and help you map out a flexible plan for your college career. During Orientation, you will get to meet members of the success coach team and talk with a success coach about your schedule.

4. Orientation

Orientation includes a number of activities, informational sessions to learn about campus resources, and Topper-Time. Topper time is a collection of small-group sessions with an Orientation Leader where you get to know other incoming students and be introduced to all things St. Edward's! Orientation provides a well-rounded experience to get connected to campus and learn about the many exciting opportunities St. Edward's and Austin have to offer.

5. Medallion Ceremony

To officially mark your arrival at St. Edward’s, you’ll join faculty, staff and university leaders to celebrate your induction into our academic community. As part of this time-honored ceremony, you’ll receive a medallion with the seal of the university from a faculty member who represents the school connected with your major. Hang on to your medallion to wear at graduation!

6. Legacy Walk

You’ll wear your university medallion to take part in another time-honored hilltop tradition — the Legacy Walk. During this special procession, our new students walk through the heart of campus and the iconic red doors of Main Building, marking their entrance into the St. Edward’s community.

We look forward to you joining the St. Edward’s family! Remember, your SEU email will be your one stop shop for all post-deposit information and events. Be sure to check it often.

Your hilltop community is here for you and eager to support your success. Toppers Up!
