The Bill Munday School of Business Graduate Advising

The Bill Munday School of Business provides academic advising and support services for all MSB graduate students and serves as a comprehensive source of information and communication.

Services include:
  • Individualized advising assistance throughout the course of a student's degree program
  • Guidance in course selection and registration 
  • Interpretation of course rotations and projected degree planning
  • Coordination of graduation processes including submitting the intent for graduation, preliminary graduation reviews, and final degree certifications
  • Information on university policies, procedures, resources and programs

Graduate Registration

Using myHilltop for Registration

For registration instructions (including how to add, drop, or swap a course), go to myHilltop or to the Office of the Registrar's page

Continuing graduate students (currently enrolled) do not need an alternate PIN.

Graduation - Requires Application

You must formally apply for graduation. Refer to Registrar's Office for application deadlines. After you apply, the business school graduate advisor will prepare a degree audit to ensure you meet all qualifications. If there are any issues, the business school graduate advisor will contact you. After the certification for graduation is completed, it will be forwarded to the Office of the Registrar.

Graduate Advising In Person and By Phone and Skype

Your business school graduate advisor accommodates the needs of working professionals by advising remotely via phone or Skype as well as in person. All advising requires an appointment. To ensure a guaranteed time for advising (in person or remote), schedule an appointment via email or by using the Zimbra calendar. Find information about using Zimbra here.

Appointments are in 30-minute increments:

Monday: 1 p.m.4:30 p.m. (last appointment 4 p.m.)
Tuesday/Thursday: 8 a.m.–noon and 1 p.m.4 p.m. (last appointment 3:30 p.m.)
Wednesday: 8 a.m.–noon and 1 p.m.4:30 p.m. (last appointment 4 p.m.)
Friday: 8 a.m.2 p.m. at PEC north campus only (last appointment 1:30 p.m.)

Newly-admitted graduate students

Students recently admitted to a business school graduate program will receive a welcome email from their business school graduate advisor detailing the steps for the registration process.

Continuing graduate students

Continuing business school graduate students should contact the graduate advisor to begin an email advising session or to set up an appointment.

Course rotations and schedules

The course rotations show the semesters in which graduate courses are offered through The Bill Munday School of Business. Course rotations for the MSLC degree are provided at the link below:

Refer to the course schedule to learn of classes that may be offered outside of a typical rotation. The Bill Munday School of Business reserves the right to modify the rotations of course offerings based on student enrollments, program changes, etc.  

Degree plans

Each student's degree plan contains specific degree requirements and is available in Degree Works via myHilltop. Log into your myHilltop account (with your user ID and password), click on the student tab, and then click on access Degree Works. For assistance with questions about Degree Works or your degree plan, contact your Graduate Advisor, Natalia Quintanilla.
