St. Edward’s University Celebrates May Commencement 2024

Austin, Texas — St. Edward’s University will honor the graduating class of May 2024 at its Spring Commencement this Saturday, May 11. More than 600 students will receive their well-earned bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees.

Two separate commencement ceremonies will be held at the St. Edward’s University Recreation and Athletics Center (RAC) in the morning and afternoon, followed by the beloved Hilltopper tradition, the Legacy Walk.

Morning Ceremony: 10 a.m.

Afternoon Ceremony: 3 p.m.

Both commencement ceremonies will also be live-streamed on the university’s YouTube channel.

St. Edward’s University welcomes this year’s commencement speaker Simone Talma-Flowers ’91, Executive Director of Interfaith Action of Central Texas (iACT), whose mission is to cultivate peace and respect through bringing people of diverse faiths, cultures and backgrounds together and breaking down the barriers.

Tama-Flowers has a wealth of experience in nonprofit management spanning more than 30 years. She is a member of the Austin Area Research Organization, Town Lake Chapter of the Links Incorporated, Impact Austin and One Voice Central Texas. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Community Advancement Network, Austin Housing Repair Coalition, Texas Impact, Swan Songs, Anti- Defamation League (ADL) and Episcopal Health Foundation.

Talma-Flowers holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration from St. Edward’s University. She also served on the university’s President’s Task Force for Systemic Racism and as the Alumni Association Board President.
