Develop Strong Global and Domestic Management Expertise

Management is local and global, individual and team, traditional and innovative. Organizations must be able to respond to environmental demands and opportunities, while also enabling their employees to work together effectively.

Successful organizations create winning systems that identify, recruit and develop employees who thrive in team-oriented, multi-cultural environments. The Management Department of The Bill Munday School of Business fosters academic excellence, professional effectiveness and personal accountability in its graduates.

This is accomplished by developing a holistic view of organizations focused on social responsibility, individual development and integrity. Outstanding faculty help students develop the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to manage people effectively and collaboratively, connecting face-to-face or virtually, in local as well as global organizations. Students strengthen critical thinking and creativity skills to use ever-expanding technological tools to meet the needs of a changing global society.

Students may choose from the following degrees:

“The best thing about going to St. Ed’s is that it's small enough to feel like you’re part of a community. You get to know your professors and peers a lot better and don't feel like you’re just a number.”

— Evelyn Cantu, International Business '17

Service

Service learning is an integral part of courses such as Business Communication, which is a required course for all business majors. Service projects give students the opportunity to accomplish course objectives, while also serving the needs of businesses and non-profit entities. Also, service projects are required for participation in the Leadership Living Learning Community.

The Bill Munday School of Business supports the St. Edward’s mission to be of service to others in support of our Holy Cross heritage. Every October, the St. Edward's University community celebrates its Holy Cross heritage with the Founder's Day Service Project, during which students work with multiple non-profit organizations throughout the region. Each January, students join members of the Austin community to volunteer at the MLK Day of Service at Huston-Tillotson University. In April, Student Government sponsors the annual BIG Event in which students, faculty and staff members help clean, paint and repair homes, churches, parks and schools in the community surrounding the University. St. Edward's students volunteer nearly 80,000 hours of their time through service each year.
