Studying with friends under the shade of Sorin Oak, serving at a soup kitchen as part of Founders Day, cheering on the Hilltopper athletic teams, attending a play at Mary Moody Northen Theatre, presenting their senior Capstone project — memories like these are long-lasting reminders for our students and alumni of their years at St. Edward’s. As they look ahead, our seniors and alumni also look back — to their own time on the hilltop and to the students who will follow them. But they do more than reflect. They act.
Each senior class carries on our tradition of philanthropy by giving back to what matters to them at St. Edward’s. Their gift is a legacy as tangible and long-lasting as the student organizations they founded, the service projects they completed and the campus traditions they celebrated, such as Hillfest, the Festival of Lights and Homecoming and Family Weekend. Just as much as the diploma they earn, their generosity reflects the voice and values they discovered on the hilltop.
As they celebrate their class reunions during Homecoming and Family Weekend, alumni from each reunion class volunteer their time toward annual fundraising efforts for the university. Their contributions and gifts of service in support of St. Edward’s honor the lifelong impact of their experience on the hilltop and provide much-need resources for today’s students. It's one of many ways our alumni reaffirm their past, present and future relationship with St. Edward’s and our Holy Cross tradition.
