Kimberly Kvaal, Ed.D. is the Vice President for Finance & Administration at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas since August 2014 and has over 24 years of experience in the higher education industry at two previous institutions. Her areas of responsibility include finance, facilities, human resources, auxiliaries, campus safety, and compliance and risk management. She serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet and is responsible for an annual operating budget of approximately $110M and an endowment of $115M.

Dr. Kvaal is an experienced presenter on not-for-profit accounting topics and is active in her professional associations. She served on NACUBO’s Accounting Principles Council which she chaired in 2014 and is also a past co-chair of WACUBO’s Professional Development Committee. In 2016, NACUBO presented Dr. Kvaal with the Daniel D. Robinson award for outstanding contributions to the field of college and university accounting and reporting. Dr. Kvaal served as a part-time faculty member at the University of San Francisco from 2006-2014 teaching Principles of Accounting I and II.

Dr. Kvaal holds a BA from the University of Colorado, Boulder, a MBA from Regis University, and most recently earned a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California in May 2020. Her area of research includes increasing organizational capacity for financial sustainability.
