Tony Alvarado is on the faculty at the Bill Munday School of Business, St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas where he teaches courses in Entrepreneurship, Business Negotiation, Legal Environment of Business and Digital Law. Tony has taught the Business Negotiation course in the MBA program at St. Edward’s University since 2010, for which he has developed several unique role play negotiation scenarios and in class exercises.

Tony is a member of the U.S. Association for Small Business & Entrepreneurship (USASBE) and co-chairs the Law & Entrepreneurship SIG. At the 2020 USASBE Conference in New Orleans, he presented an abstract for an emerging teaching exercise track titled, The New Digital Adventure Band, previewing a primer for negotiation strategies in a startup venture, which he co-authored with MSB colleague, Dr. Keith Ward.

Tony is licensed to practice law in Texas by the Texas Supreme Court. He maintains a limited solo private practice in Austin, Texas serving business clients. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas (SBOT) and the American Bar Association. Tony is a mediator and was previously associated with Center◊Court Mediation in Austin, Texas. He serves on the board of directors of Texas Legal Services Center, a legal aid provider in Austin. Tony was Executive Director of the State Bar of Texas (SBOT). Prior to that he was in general practice with his own firm in Laredo, Texas. Tony served on active duty with the U. S. Air Force JAG Corps.
