Headshot of President Dr. George E. Martin.

Dear Colleagues,

It was a pleasure seeing so many of you at the fall President’s Meeting this week. If you were able to attend, you heard campus updates plus details of our new Strategic Plan 2022 and the vision and goals we will work together to achieve over the next five years. If you missed the meeting, you can see my presentation here.

This is an exciting point in time for St. Edward’s. Our many accomplishments over the last 18 years speak volumes about the hard work and dedication of the faculty and staff of our exceptional university.

Since 1999, we have implemented a series of ambitious strategic plans that have led to unprecedented growth and national recognition for St. Edward’s. Most importantly, these successes have resulted in outstanding educational opportunities and outcomes for our students.

Now we build on that success as we work toward Strategic Plan 2022. Guiding the way is a bold new vision to ensure that every student at St. Edward’s will explore transformational pathways to knowledge, experience, understanding and achievement.

The plan has a framework of themes that will guide our future development in four key areas: Holy Cross Community, Student Experience, Austin Connections and Institutional Transformation.

Over the coming weeks, I will share more about these central themes, our vision and the actions we have outlined to fulfill them. In the meantime, I encourage you to learn more about Strategic Plan 2022 by visiting the Strategic Plan 2022 webpage for more details. This page will be updated throughout the next five years.

As we move forward with this new plan and advancing our mission, I am deeply grateful for all you do to support our Holy Cross educational experience and our students’ success. The excellence we strive for begins with each of us.

George E. Martin, PhD
