The following statement is in response to recent news regarding the future of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program:
For more than 130 years, St. Edward’s University has been dedicated to educating all who seek to realize their full potential, regardless of social standing, economic status, or cultural background. The university is committed to the well-being and success of all students, including immigrants. St. Edward’s University supports the continuation of the DACA program and a path to citizenship for those who were brought to this country as children and who are in pursuit of their education and careers as positive, productive contributors to American society. Within the confines of all applicable laws, the university will support our students and provide resources to guide their personal and academic experience at St. Edward’s.
