Dear Students,

After a spring semester unlike any of us expected, we would like to wish you good luck with your final exams and your transitions to summer. Please remember there are numerous student support services that are available to assist you. For our graduating students, we look forward to celebrating with you in the virtual commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 9. We know that the virtual commencement differs from how we were all hoping to recognize your many accomplishments, so planning is underway to host an in-person December commencement on campus.

Faculty and staff groups are working diligently to plan for the fall semester. We are actively addressing several scenarios for social distancing across campus including classes, residence halls, dining, student programs, and more. Please look for details as they become available before the end of June.  Some students, registered to live in Johnson Hall during the fall semester, were recently notified about the first housing updates.

We encourage you to participate on Friday, May 1, in the virtual Unwind Before the Grind. Additionally, you can find helpful updates for the end of the semester in the Top 5 on the current students webpage. Please also look for email updates this week from the Dean of Students on the Climate Justice Council Report and the Sexual Misconduct Student Workgroup.

The last two months have been filled with change and unprecedented circumstances. The ways in which you have come together with each other, faculty and staff strengthens our Hilltopper community. Good luck on your finals and have a great summer. We look forward to seeing you back on the Hilltop!

Sincerely,

Lisa Kirkpatrick, Ph.D.
