Congratulations and Welcome Back!

We recognize the huge sacrifices the Class of 2020 made during its last months at St. Edward’s and the disappointment we all shared in not being able to celebrate a traditional commencement. This year, we’re excited to welcome you back to campus to honor your hard work and achievements in-person, and to salute your resilience during a turbulent final semester on the hilltop.

The St. Edward’s Commencement committee is busy finalizing all details of our in-person graduation event in May for the Class of 2020 (graduates from Fall 2019, Spring 2020 and Summer 2020). The following information provides an overview of the event and will be updated as commencement plans are confirmed. Please visit this page frequently to see the latest information.

Class of 2020 Commencement Plans: Undergraduate, Graduate, Adult & Continuing Studies, New College

On-Campus, In-Person Commencement: May 17–19, 2021

Even though the Class of 2020 has already officially graduated, St. Edward’s is committed to offering the same in-person commencement experience to our alumni from last year’s graduating class. The Class of 2020 will receive an invitation to participate in an on-campus, in-person commencement experience that includes walking across the stage and participating in the Legacy Walk.

We anticipate celebrating the Class of 2020 on May 17–19, 2021, on the hilltop. Members of the Class of 2020 are encouraged to update their contact information.

Guests and Safety Guidelines:

Graduates may invite up to four family or friends to the on-campus commencement celebration. We understand that many families would like to include more people for this important day in their graduate’s life. Per our medical team’s guidance, four guests per graduate allows the university to balance the risks to public health while also acknowledging the importance of having family members present for this special moment. Our in-person graduate experience will comply with all university health and safety guidelines, including the required use of face coverings and physical distancing between different family groups.
