Convocation 2024 is set to take place February 27-29 on the campus of St. Edward’s University. We hope to see you there as Convocation is the largest annual gathering of Holy Cross educators from across the country and around the world. At the upcoming Convocation, we expect more than 300 members of the Holy Cross family to gather in Austin and experience the HOPE that inspired Bl. Basile Moreau, the Congregation’s founder. Moreau’s signature phrase “With Hope to Bring” is the theme of Convocation 2024.
Call for Proposals
We are currently accepting proposals for presentations at Convocation 2024 – please consider submitting a proposal for either a plenary session or a workshop here.
Plenary sessions are limited in number and take up the bigger questions facing Holy Cross educators and ministers today. Whatever the question, the presentation should incorporate the theme “With Hope to Bring” into the discussion. We encourage collaborations with multiple presenters, even colleagues from other Holy Cross institutions.
Workshops tend to be focused on projects, initiatives or simply “best practices” that advance the Holy Cross mission at a given school or ministry. Workshops are a way to share ideas with colleagues who work in the same vocational space but are located at in another state or country. It is suggested but not required that workshops connect with the conference theme “With Hope to Bring.”
The Holy Cross Institute owes a debt of gratitude to those who present at Convocation. Given the operational costs of Convocation, which the Institute bears in full, we do not offer honoraria or stipends to presenters. Instead, we ask that you consider your time and talent as a gift in kind that helps to make Convocation possible. Thank You!
The deadline for proposals is October 1. Notification of a proposal’s status will be sent by November 1.
Your Accommodations
We are returning this year to the Austin Southpark Hotel, where all participants can book rooms at rates specially reduced for the Convocation. The Southpark will be a hub at breakfast time and in the evening hours after the Convocation has concluded for the day. The Austin Southpark Hotel is five minutes from St. Edward’s University, and shuttle bus transportation will be provided by one of the premier lines in the Austin area, Clark Charters and Travel.
