Transcripts and Academic Information

An official transcript is a comprehensive record of your academic progress, including transfer courses, credit earned by exam and earned degrees. Your name appears on your official transcript as it appears on your university record. Official transcripts include the university seal and signature of the registrar.

Student academic records are classified as confidential and may be released only with the student's written authorization and signature, in accordance with the Public Information Act and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974.

Official transcripts cannot be released to students who have not met their financial obligations to the university.

Order Transcripts Through the National Student Clearinghouse

St. Edward’s University has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide transcript ordering via the web. Transcripts may be requested 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Transcript requests submitted on the weekends, or while the university is closed, will be processed in the order received when the university resumes business hours.

Please be aware that the National Student Clearinghouse only handles your transcript order. The clearinghouse does not have access to your academic record and does not print your transcript.

This allows us to better serve the needs of our current students and alumni in the following ways:

  • Convenient 24/7 ordering access, including order status checks
  • Ability to email PDF transcript(s) to recipient(s)
  • Faster service due to reduced processing time
  • Secure transactions
  • Automatic order updates via email
  • Online order tracking
  • Ability to order multiple transcripts for multiple recipients in one order
  • Ability to scan and upload any attachments that need to accompany your transcript

This service requires a nominal fee, and should only be used when our free service options do not suit your needs.

Visit the National Student Clearinghouse for more information.

Transcripts From Other Institutions

For Admission or Transfer of Credit

New or readmitted students must have official transcripts of all prior work on file within one term of initial registration or be subject to dismissal. Transfer credit will not be awarded for any prior work completed at any institution that is not listed on the student's admission application. For continuing students, official transcripts of work completed at another institution must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar within the student's next long term at St. Edward's. Failure to do so may result in the student being barred from future registrations. Transcripts must be submitted electronically or in a sealed envelope. Transcripts stamped "issued to student" will not be accepted unless received from the issuing institution in a sealed envelope. All transcripts submitted to St. Edward's become part of the permanent property of the university and cannot, under any circumstances, be returned to the student. St. Edward's will not generate copies of transcripts that originated at other institutions. See the St. Edward's University Bulletin for additional information.
