Here are three degree programs at St. Edward’s that will teach you how to combine skills with a profession that gives back.

Degree: Master of Science in Leadership and Change
What you can do: Help organizations and people adapt

The adage that “the only constant in life is change” is true for successful organizations as well as individuals. The Master of Science in Leadership and Change (MSLC) at St. Edward’s University equips graduates with the skills to make organizational transitions productive and positive. The degree program focuses on leadership and change management from a business perspective and will prepare you to work in for-profit, non-profit and governmental settings. Potential careers include program officer for a charitable foundation, chief of staff for a legislator, and director of strategic planning for a financial institution.

Degree: Master of Arts in Counseling
What you can do: Change the world one person at a time

Counselors change the world by helping individual people transform their lives and relationships. The Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, prepares students to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or both. You’ll learn a variety of approaches for treating mental health — from the latest research on the relationship between neuroscience and mental health, to eastern philosophies and treatments that have been practiced for thousands of years — and graduate prepared to work with children, adolescents, adults, families or couples.

Degree: Master of Arts in College Student Development
What you can do: Help college students reach their full potential

People who work in higher education are surrounded by big ideas and youthful energy — and they can make an impact on young adults’ futures. The Master of Arts in College Student Development (MACSD) at St. Edward’s prepares graduates to work closely with college students, helping them grow personally and professionally. You’ll learn advising, counseling and mentoring skills and get up to speed on current legal and ethical issues in higher education. Entry-level MACSD positions include hall directors, academic advisors and admission officers; other graduates go on to administrative careers, becoming a dean of students or vice president of student affairs.

St. Edward's University offers a variety of online, weekend and evening graduate programs, all of which are designed to give you the knowledge, industry insights, global perspective and professional network you need to take your career to a new level.
